I was really curious to test Charlotte Tilbury products and they are finally here! As a first impression I liked the packaging, the rose gold tone is glam, yet the final look is simple and elegant. I bought the Wonderglow, two creamy eye bases “Eyes to mesmerize” and two matte lipsticks. I cannot pick one products that I liked the most, because they all have great quality.
So, let’s start with the eye bases, I chose Bette (golden bronze tone) and Verushka (warm khaki) shades; the colors are great, both with soft golden sparkles, the texture it’s like a cream-mousse that melts on the skin and sets beautifully, allowing you to add powder eyeshadow on top if you want.
But what I like the most, is the fact they are buildable, you can create the most delicate effect and add more afterwards, to intensify the eye look as you wish.
The lipstick shades I picked are The Queen (bright red with pink undertone) and Very Victoria (mauve-brown nude).
I expected The Queen shade to have more of a plum/berry undertone, but I still like the color; it has a powder-like texture which feels velvety on the lips, while Very Victoria has a creamier texture. Don’t expect that super matte, almost drying effect that you get with matte liquid lipsticks, Charlotte Tilbury matte lipsticks are non-shiny, yet creamy and comfortable to wear.
Last but not least, the Wonderglow! ♥ To be honest I don’t like primers, the best primer for me is a good moisturizer, but this one is different. When you first apply it you can see it’s champagne tone with sheer golden sparkles leaves a soft glow on the skin, but my favorite thing about it, is that it softly hydrates and tightens skin, leaving behind an uber-smooth surface, it’s like a perfect prep for foundation. This might not be for people with really enlarged pores or for the ones who want a super matte looking skin, but for everyone who likes glowy skin, wears foundation and wants it to adhere flawlessly it’s a fantastic product.
As an overall opinion I was impressed with the formulations and textures and for sure I will try new products from Charlotte Tilbury, not only for my kit but for myself also.
